As the midterm is here, I can confidently say that I'm in a good place to expand on my project. While there were definitely bumps to get this far, I'm proud of what I had accomplished and what I had learned so far. The biggest thing I've learned thus far is to think beyond a traditional form in order to create an emotional layer for my project. At the beginning (Design Drafts), I was stuck—I was very restricted to a grid, and none of the spreads had the emotional depth that I was looking for. It just seemed very corporate and nothing more. However, now that I had broke out of that (First Revisions), I feel confident, and ready to add more, and to start my companion piece. Furthermore, this project has also been an emotional one for me—I am tapping into emotions I have not expressed publicly before.
